Pathways to the Trades
Opening New Employment Pathways to the Trades and Associated Professions in Alberta is a collaborative program between the Centre for Business, Arts and Sciences, which includes the English Language Centre, and the Centre for Trades. This customized trades program for newcomers is focused on building specific skills needed to succeed in the southern Alberta labour market.

Aquaponics research project
In conjunction with researchers from the Aquaculture Centre of Excellence, Rob Sonnenberg is involved in an Integrated Fish and Plant Systems project made possible by a $2.1 million grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Rob’s focus is examining the quality and consumer acceptance of aquaponics produce.

Lethbridge College apprenticeship student wins national gold medal
A Lethbridge College Plumbing apprenticeship student has earned the title of best in Canada in his age group. Joshua Mandin was announced as the Skills Canada national gold medalist!

School of Construction Trades
Today’s skilled tradespeople create, maintain, and innovate the products of the world, whether by shaping the elements themselves or seeing how the equipment and components come together to make those products. Whether a three or four year apprenticeship will provide you a pathway to the all of great things that a craftsperson can accomplish.





School of Culinary Arts
Whether you choose to take our Culinary Arts diploma program, the Weekly Apprenticeship Training System for cooks (WATS), or bakers (Block Release), our hands-on approach will provide you with the experience and knowledge you’ll need to work in the culinary career of your dreams. All three of our programs can lead to a Red Seal designation, allowing you to practice your trade anywhere in Canada without having to write additional exams.



School of Renewable Energy
The School of Renewable Energy is currently home to Canada’s largest Wind Turbine Technician program. We are housed in the new, state-of-the-art Trades, Technologies and Innovation Facility, located at the south end of Lethbridge College. Stay tuned, as other renewable energy related programs are currently under development.




Crooks School of Transportation
The Crooks School of Transportation is a progressive school covering Automotive, Parts, Heavy Equipment and Agricultural Technology programs. The school offers all sections of apprenticeship offerings in all these trades as well as a certificate program in automotive service and another in agriculture and heavy equipment technician studies. The school is housed in the new, state-of-the-art Trades, Technologies and Innovation Facility, and it features well-maintained training equipment and professional instructors with substantial industry experience.
