Ready to collaborate
The land where Lethbridge College sits is the traditional territory of the Blackfoot people, the place where, for more than 10,000 years, the members of the Kainai, the Piikani and the Siksika nations would hunt, fish and camp. For as long as there have been residents of the western prairies, this has been a place of people coming together to live, learn and grow.
Our services extend far beyond that of our students; we’re a community-focused institution and we’re ready for you. So whether you need to keep the kids entertained during the dog days of summer, want to hit the gym over the winter (and the trails in the spring), are looking for a delicious meal in a restaurant with a stunning coulee view, or just think a facility tour is a neat way to pass the time – our doors are open.
Lethbridge College – part of your community
Community has always been a part of what we do, and we are proud to be a part of communities across southern Alberta. Through our Regional Stewardship department, we are making post-secondary education more accessible to learners throughout the region with campuses in Claresholm, Pincher Creek and Vulcan County. We offer programs and Continuing Education courses through a variety of educational delivery methods – including face-to-face, online and blended – and we have a broad range of support services designed to enhance learner success for both on- and off-campus learning.

Our history
The creation of our country’s first publicly-funded community college and our beautiful campus was the result of an impressive collaboration between educators and school districts in the city and in the surrounding rural areas. With hard work and determination, they joined forces to make sure everyone with the desire to learn had access to a relevant, high quality education, right here, close to home.
For more than six decades, we’ve been doing just that, as we’ve worked to lead and transform education in Alberta through our innovative programs, our hands-on learning opportunities and our ability to meet the needs of industry and our community. We are currently ranked one of Canada’s top 50 research colleges, and 95 per cent of our grads say they were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of teaching in their program (while 95 per cent of employers were satisfied or very satisfied with the performance of our grads).
The community has shaped the college into the innovative institution it is today. On our 60th anniversary in 2017, our institution renewed our commitment to the vision of our pioneering founders, the hard work of our dedicated builders, the ongoing support of our local and provincial governments, communities and partners, and the dreams of students who choose to make us part of their lives. We’re ready. Because we know what happens next matters most.
